Barcode, QR or serial. The code becomes a brand, a model number and a typical warranty length.
You just can't prove which half. Product Guard keeps the receipt, the serial number and the expiry date for everything you buy — and tells you before the cover runs out, not after.

Thermal paper fades in about a year. Most warranties last two. The proof dies before the cover does.
Nobody remembers that the washing machine was bought in March. The manufacturer will ask.
By the time something breaks, you have three days left and no serial number to hand.
Adding things
Point the camera at whatever you have — the box, the receipt, the thing itself — and the details come out filled in. Nothing is saved until you tap Save.
Barcode, QR or serial. The code becomes a brand, a model number and a typical warranty length.
Edge-detected capture, then the shop, the date, the price and the item are read off it. On a long receipt it picks the expensive thing you'd actually claim on.
Take a picture of the product. The background is cut away and what's left becomes its photo in your list.
Already took a picture of the receipt months ago? Pick it, and the app spots that it's a receipt and reads it.
A warranty card, an emailed invoice, a PDF. Or paste the link to the product page you bought from.
Share any product page to Product Guard the moment you order. It reads the page and starts the record for you.
Where your data goes
Reading a receipt, filling the form, sorting things into categories, writing a claim — all of it runs on your device using Apple's on-device models. There is no account to create and no database of users anywhere.

When something breaks
You have the cover, you have the dates, and then you sit staring at a support form. Product Guard writes the first draft using what it already knows about the purchase.
Reminders arrive on your schedule, at a time you choose. They're scheduled by your phone — no server, no push, works with the plane on.
Change a date and every pending reminder is rebuilt, so what the screen shows is what your phone will actually deliver.
Describe the fault in a sentence. Out comes a claim message with the model, the serial, the retailer and the purchase date already in it. Edit it, copy it, send it yourself — the app never sends anything for you.
Dear Sony Support, I am writing regarding my WH-1000XM5 headphones (serial S5X-8841-QP), purchased from Currys on 12 August 2024 and covered until 12 August 2026. The right earcup has stopped producing sound
